Belarus hosts 2nd International Anti-Nazism Congress

Minsk, Aug 18 (Prensa Latina) Belarus will host the 2nd International Anti-Nazism Congress starting this Friday, which brings together representatives from more than 30 countries, the Ministry of Defense reported.

The event organized by the Belarusian Ministry of Defense, is taking place under the motto “Let’s stop neo-Nazism together in the name of the future of humanity”, and is held at the Central House of Officers, in the center of Minsk, the BelTA news agency informed.

Attendees will discuss the historical background and conditions that gave rise to Nazi ideology and analyze the lessons of history in the context of national and international security.

The Congress will also address the escalation of the current international tension and the military preparations as a reflect of global processes of the resurgence of fascism in the state politics of some countries.

According to the organizers, among those invited are: researchers, politicians, legislators and diplomats from Russia, China, Bulgaria, Azerbaijan, Serbia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Brazil, Cuba, Venezuela, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Iran.

World War II veterans are also expected to participate.

Attendees will also visit the Khatin memorial complex, which was erected on the site of the village where in March 1943 a Nazi battalion burned 149 residents, including 75 children, alive.

The 1st International Anti-Nazi Congress was held in August 2022 in Russia, in the Patriot Park on the outskirts of Moscow.
