The proposal aims at declaring that entity as a Presidium of Research and Excellence to prevent it from being privatized or closed, as suggested by Javier Milei, presidential candidate of the ultra-right-wing “La Libertad Avanza” party.

CONICET has been conducting research for 65 years, comprises over 30,000 workers; in addition, it is the main institution in charge of promoting research in areas such as agriculture, engineering, health, exact and social sciences.
