Salvadoran organization opposes Bukele’s re-election

San Salvador, Aug 17 (Prensa Latina) Salvadoran Accion Ciudadana organization opposed President Nayib Bukele’s re-election by requesting Thursday the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) to disregard the ruling decision of the Constitutional Chamber to allow Buquele be re-elected.

Eduardo Escobar,head of non-profit Accion Ciudadana group, said to disagree with the stance adopted by the TSE regarding Buquele’s presidential re-election and candidacy registration.

On Tuesday, the SUMAR organization made the same appeal for rejecting the president’s registration, which violates the resolutions of the Constitutional Chamber, members of the electoral forum are against Buquele’s re-election as well.

Previously, Noel Orellana, magistrate of the TSE noted that several sectors are willing the collegiate body to violate the 2022 ruling on the immediate presidential re-election; however, some of Orellana’s colleagues have already granted they will comply with what is set by law.
