The competition, sponsored by Orizzonti Hub, pays tribute to the Italian journalist and writer, considered one of the greatest intellectuals of the last century.
Those interested could submit up to three proposals per author for the tribute poster, which must allude to such a significant date and include the text “ITALO CALVINO. UN OPTIMISTA EN CENTENARIO 1923-2023.” Elements identified with the figure of Calvino, his work, and his personality should also be included.
The posters must be designed for silk-screen printing, 50x70cm size (2cm diaphragm), using up to three colors, including the Orizzonti Hub and CartelON logos. The rules and logos can be downloaded from www.carteloncuba.com or be requested by e-mail.
The works should be sent to cartelon.cuba@gmail.com in JPG or PDF format (300dpi) before October 15, 2023, the date of Calvino’s birthday. The author’s identity and location information (name, country, and phone number via WhatsApp) must be attached to the body of the e-mail.
A jury will select the Best Poster and elect a group of posters that will reach the contest’s final stage for an exhibition at the 44th International Festival of New Latin American Cinema in Havana from December 8 to 17, 2023.
