Sources based in the town of Al-Jarubiyah in the northeastern province of Hasakeh reported that a convoy of 40 tanker trucks loaded with crude oil entered Iraqi territory through the illegal Al-Mahmudiya crossing and went to Washington bases in Iraq.
The Damascus authorities denounce that Washington’s troops, in complicity with its separatist militia FDS, plunder oil, wheat and barley, depriving the Syrian people of these materials.
Syria produced before the war, in 2011, more than 380 000 barrels of crude oil per day, but this figure was reduced to only 80 000, 66 000 of which are plundered by US troops and the FDS.
The Syrian Foreign Ministry recently revealed that losses in the oil sector amounted to 105 billion dollars, while 235 workers in the sector died, 46 were wounded and 112 remain missing after being kidnapped.
