Yun Hyun-soo, head of the South Korean Foreign Ministry’s office for climate change, energy, environmental and scientific affairs, said that the parties will hold talks in the coming hours via video conference to conclude discussions on Seoul’s requests regarding the dumping plan.
The meeting will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, and seeks to finalize the details that have been under discussion, Yun said during the daily briefing on the Fukushima issue.
The two countries previously held two rounds of talks to discuss follow-up measures after South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol asked Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida to include South Korean experts in the monitoring the Fukushima water discharge.
