President Abinader calls off speech given San Cristobal blast

Santo Domingo, Aug 15 (Prensa Latina) Dominican President Luis Abinader called off on Tuesday his speech for Restoration Day on August 16, and will instead attend a Mass to honor the blast’s victims in San Cristobal, so was reported by Spokesperson for the Presidency and Director of Strategy and Government Communication Homero Figueroa who further detailed the Mass will take place in the Cathedral of Our Lady of Consolation in San Cristobal at 09.00 am, local time.

Likewise, Figueroa indicated that the president will have a working table in the provincial governor’s office to define actions to counteract such a tragedy, which has left 10 deaths, 11 missing and dozens hospitalizations.

Abinader’s government reiterated to double down on aiding victims and protect all affected families since he is aware of the deep commotion generated by Monday afternoon incident in an industrial zone of that territory.
