The local Civil Aviation Authority stated that the bilateral air service agreement maintains aspects of the document signed between the two nations in 1965. It was discussed before signing it to protect Addis Ababa’s interests.
Ethiopian and Hungarian Airlines agreed to operate seven commercial and unlimited cargo flights. Ethiopian Airlines could also reach third countries in Central Europe, flights to three Central countries and beyond with fifth traffic rights, the source noted.
Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority’s Director General Getachew Mengstie and his Hungarian counterpart, Mate Lowinger, signed the document.
