A press release published in the Granma newspaper added that the BCC is training its staff and other stakeholders on this subject and on the transactions that are being carried out in Cuba.
The BCC officiates such a program addressed to the sector’s workers, the population and the economy stakeholders, in order to comply with the measures adopted by the Executive Committee of the Council of Ministers for the gradual implementation of the changes in the transaction process in the country.
In this regard, the BCC General Director of Operations and Payment Systems, Julio Antonio Pérez, explained that preparation is essential to make the success of the process dynamic and guarantee it.
He added that this requires to demonstrate how beneficial it is for the economy and the population, whose doubts, since the regulation was made public, have been answered and clarified in the bank branches, on the media and in other spaces.
Pérez noted that the conferences, workshops, forum-debates, seminars and other orientation and financial education actions have a national scope, and involve banking and financial institutions and entities that participate in the implementation of the approved measures, as well as local governments, political and mass organizations.
Pérez pointed out that the training for organizations, authorities in each territory and selected segments will be held by facilitators, who will be responsible for multiplying it to the rest of the beneficiaries.
In the short term, he added, the aim is to achieve general awareness of the banking system implementation, in order to make it more effective in all the participating entities and their clientele, and in the medium and long terms to strengthen the response capacity of the organizations, governments and local authorities.
