Theater, television, radio, cinema, cabaret, and a declaimer have been his great passions. He has performed in more than 100 plays since the beginning of his career.
Knight has been an acting teacher, host, and director of programs and has received several awards and acknowledgements, such as the Cuban Culture Award, the Alejo Carpentier Award, and the Caricatos Award for Children.
His artistic career began with singing and reciting poetry, and later he made his way Havana among directors of theater, radio, and television, earning the public’s affection.
He played important roles in the Musical Theater of Havana, where he was Mephistopheles.
Knight’s artistic work has been closely linked to the Cuban revolutionary process. Along the way, he shared many moments as a duet with actress Asenneh Rodríguez, who was very much loved by the Cuban public.
He recorded his first album of poems and calypsos with the Maype label. In the 1970s, he did valuable work with the poems of National Poet Nicolás Guillén, along with the aforementioned actress. Since then, he has returned to his work in seasons.
He was awarded the National Television Prize.
