Asked about the high number of votes Milei’s La Libertad Avanza (or Liberty Advances) got the primary elections with 30.2 percent compared to Union por la Patria (United for the Homeland, in power) and Juntos por el Cambio (Together for the Change, main opposition), he responded that each country has its own history and experiences cannot be extrapolated.

He said that the case of Mexico is very different from that of Argentina. The South American country was affected by a great crisis created by the right-wing government of conservative Macri, who indebted Argentina with the complicity of the IMF, which gave him exprofeso more money than the real capacity to pay, and when he lost he left that huge unpayable debt to Alberto Fernandez, who is not the least bit to blame for that burden.

The IMF treated him as if he was the one who had acquired it and by demanding huge payments he favored and aggravated inflation with all its social effects, all this accompanied by an enormous media campaign against the Government, he indicated.

Of course, all this affected a lot of Argentine people, he said and added that this situation is very similar to what happened in Germany with a similar crisis that brought Adolf Hitler to power in 1933, which led to the historical disaster that everyone knows, although he clarified that he was not making comparisons, but using references and the extremes to which economic crises can lead.

For this reason, he added, governments should always be with the people, and should try not to deceive the people, and not try to get along with everyone because in the end they end up looking bad.

Preference must be given to the poor, who are the majority, and that is why I say that we must govern with the people, who must guide us in all our actions. We come from the people and we owe it to them, he said.

So, the lesson is not to turn our backs to the people, especially in Argentina, with a different reality, because here we have social networks and morning conferences to counteract newspapers such as Reforma and many others, but there the press and social media have almost absolute power, led by Clarín newspaper, and they do not have a plural press, just like it happens in Chile with El Mercurio, he denounced.

Lopez Obrador insisted that the success in Mexico has been to command by obeying the people, making the interest of action in favor of the people prevail and with this an indestructible unity has been achieved, but not within and between parties, but of the people with the government, since tens of millions are in favor and defend the Fourth Transformation, he concluded.
