As reported today by the state news agency KCNA, the leader made a thorough inspection of the expansion and modernization work at a tactical missile production plant and praised the results.
Kim also visited an armored vehicle factory and, after driving one of them to check its mobility and combat capabilities, said that they meet the high standards expected by experts and the Party’s Central Military Commission.
He also visited a factory of trucks with launching platforms for tactical missiles and another one for large-caliber remote-controlled reactive projectiles.
At the end of his two-day tour, he called for further improvement of the country’s defense system as a deterrent to war and a guarantee of victory if enemies launch an aggression.
Speaking at a meeting of the Central Military Commission a few days ago, Kim said that the worsening situation on the Korean peninsula makes it necessary to accelerate preparations for an eventual military confrontation.
From the 21st to the 24th, the United States and South Korea will carry out the Eulji Freedom Shield maneuvers, which Pyongyang considers as “war exercises to invade the North”.
