In the activity, presided over by Cuban Ambassador Mirta Granda, documentaries were shown about the life of the heroic Commander in Chief, his political formation, his struggle to free Cuba for building a fairer socialist society, which showed other peoples the way to a better world.
A conversation was held, in which members of the diplomatic mission highlighted the transcendence of Fidel’s example and work, who was born on August 13, 1926 in Biran town, eastern Holguin province, and died at 90, on November 25, 2016.
Among the initiatives enhanced in Italy for this historic date, it was further stood out the one carried out on Sunday at the Fidel Peak, at a point in the Alps near Turin city, by officials of the Cuban Consulate General in Milan, members of the Cuban community in Italy and Italian friends of Cubans.
Furthermore, on August 13, nearby the Coliseum in Rome, the National Association of Italy-Cuba Friendship (ANAIC) displayed two banners in honor of Fidel, one with his image and another with the slogan Homeland’s Freedom or Death, We’ll Win!
