Honoring the state funeral organized on Monday, Henry granted that Alexandre dedicated his political career to boost peace and consolidate democratic institutions.

The PM said that Alexandre always showed wisdom and pragmatism as president searching for solutions to ease political and social tensions, while facing huge challenges of his term with courage and determination.

Likewise, under Jovenel Moïse’s term (2017-2021), Alexandre led the commission that presented a proposal for constitutional reform.

Haiti’s Government decreed three days of national mourning to pay him homage.
