Egypt, Iberia’s new route focusing on Latin America

Grupo-Iberia
Madrid, Aug 14 (Prensa Latina) The Iberia Group today announced a new route between Madrid and Cairo for the upcoming winter season, which will benefit customers in Latin America and the Caribbean.

In a press release, Iberia highlighted that its flights to the Egyptian capital will have a relevant impact from the 18 destinations in 16 countries that the airline operates in Latin America.

The itinerary to be operated by Iberia Express, the low-cost subsidiary, will be inaugurated on October 30, and will have three round-trip flights a week, every Monday, Thursday and Saturday.

The outbound flights will be four hours and 50 minutes, while the return flight from Cairo will take five and a quarter hours.

The A321 NEO aircraft will cover the route. In Africa, besides this new route to Cairo, Iberia has flights to Morocco (Marrakech, Casablanca and Tangier), 10 weekly frequencies to Dakar, Senegal, and two to Algiers.

In the winter season from the end of October until March, Iberia will exceed 300 weekly flights between Latin America and Spain, which is 14 percent more than the figures it had before the pandemic.
