Abinader left for the United States on Friday. He was accompanied by his wife, Raquel Arbaje, Senate President Eduardo Estrella, and Administrative Minister of the Presidency Jose Ignacio Paliza.
Every year in August, the New York parade gathers nearly half a million Dominican residents in the United States, and is the largest demonstration of Dominican culture on the streets of the city.
On Saturday, the head of State was acknowledged by the International Union of Officers and Civilians for the progress made in the reform of the National Police during his administration.
During a meeting with the Dominican diaspora, Abinader expressed his gratitude for the support that this community gives to his country of origin.
