Arce to travel to Paraguayan president’s taking office

La Paz, Aug 14 (Prensa Latina) Bolivian President Luis Arce will hand over the presidential baton to his Vice President David Choquehuanca on Monday to leave for Paraguay, where he will participate in the taking office of his Paraguayan counterpart, Santiago Peña.

Bolivia TV reported that Arce will arrive Monday to Paraguay for attending on Tuesday the Solemn Session of the Paraguayan Congress, where the new head of State Peña and his Vice President Pedro Alliana will swear in for the 2023-2028 term.

Subsequently, a Solemn Te Deum will take place in the Metropolitan Cathedral on the beginning of a new Constitutional Period and in commemoration of the 486th anniversary of the foundation of Asuncion City, according to a press release from Paraguay’s Presidency.

The greeting of the heads of special missions and official delegations to the new president and his First Lady Leticia Ocampos, will be held tomorrow around 11:30, local time, according to sources.

Arce’s visit to Paraguay takes place in the context of relations that both sides describe as excellent.
