Prensa Latina verified that despite the rains that have been falling in the territory since dawn, the contribution to food production in different productive poles is met and they carry out voluntary work in work centers for International Youth Day.
Abraham Sánchez, first secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Union of Young Communists (UJC), said that in the hands of the young people is the commitment to continue, strengthen and keep alive the work of the Commander in Chief, his socialist ideology.
The new generation, he pointed out, is a participant in disseminating the achievements of the Revolution, its achievements in health, education, sports and becoming an example to give it continuity together with the country’s top leadership.
One of the central activities, called Cuba Dances, is scheduled in the Yayabo Multipurpose Room, in the territorial capital, with the participation of guests from various provinces of the country.
Meanwhile, the municipality of Cabaiguán organized the Zona Joven festival in homage to the historical leader, with the participation of children, adolescents and young people linked to the different artistic manifestations.
Discussions are also held with the presence of young people who met or spoke with Fidel Castro, as well as with members of the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution, to learn about their experiences in more than 60 years of revolution.
Meanwhile, the Provincial Museum of History shows the exhibition “Eternally young”, which includes some 35 pieces that were given to the Commander in Chief, at different times.
Regarding the exhibition, María Antonieta Jiménez, City Historian, affirmed that the objects are of extraordinary value, because of the history they treasure, and because they also contain Cuba and the legacy of an essential man who on August 13 would be 97 years old.
