Americans ask, take and give nothing in their relations with other countries, the president said in an interview with Sky News Arabia, when answering a question about contacts with Washington during the war that broke out in Syria in 2011.

He clarified that dialogues with the US authorities had been carried out intermittently for years, but we had no hope for a single moment that the Americans would change.

This is the nature of relations between Damascus and Washington for four decades, specifically since 1974,” said the President.

He assured that Syrian policy does not leave the door closed to any attempt, however, he ruled out any outcome of any negotiations with the Americans in the foreseeable future.

At the same time, the Syrian president said that his country’s relations with Russia and Iran show that Syria knows how to choose its friends well.
