The texts exhibited throughout the month of August in the Azagaya gallery, at the headquarters of the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba in Ciego de Ávila, were donated by retired professor Gisela Rodríguez.
Among the books are “Absolved by history” and “Así es Fidel”, by prominent journalist Luis Báez; “Fidel and religion”, by Frei Betto; “On the march with Fidel”, by Antonio Núñez Jiménez; “All the time of the cedars”, by Katiuska Blanco, and “Fidel in the south of Ciego de Avila”, by local historian José Martín Suárez.
In addition, there are volumes authored by the Commander in Chief, such as “La paz en Colombia”; “The economic and social crisis of the world”; “Human rights and strategic victory”.
Also young creators from the Hermanos Saiz Association (AHS) and the José Martí Art Instructors brigade from Ciego de Avila, hold community meetings in different municipalities of the province, where they offer music and artistic scenes to the neighbors.
The president of the AHS in Ciego de Ávila, Santa Masiel Rueda, stated the contacts with people in the neighborhoods are aimed at honoring Fidel and also the brothers Luis and Sergio Saíz, who fell in combat on August 13, 1957. She added this weekend at the House of the Young Creator there will be poetry recitals, conversations and trova downloads.
Exhibitions, meetings with children and young people, actions of painting, drawing and visual arts and “”My favorite photo about the historic Commander in Chief”, are presentations that are carried out in the Avilan municipality of Morón, to remember Fidel.
