The Ministry stated that, as a result of the attack, the Russian soldiers liberated the position and entrenched themselves in it, taking an important step in the direction of Maryinka, in the Donetsk People’s Republic.

The Ministry of Defense also shared images of the artillery preparation that preceded the assault, showing massive hits in the area near the mine’s ventilation shaft.

Artillery preparation is necessary to suppress enemy fire positions so that assault units can approach without loss and occupy them, the information highlighted.

During the first days of August, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported the defeat of troops and matériel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Krasnogorovka area, located a few kilometers north of Maryinka.

It also said that the Ukrainian attacks were repelled, and the position of the Russian troops at the front improved there.
