During the operation, the cosmonauts mounted additional micrometeorite shields on the Rassviet module as well as a portable workstation on the ERA robotic arm and tested Prokopiev’s transfer from the Poisk module to Rassviet, while his colleague Andrei Fediayev controlled the process from the ISS.
Prokopiev and Petelin completed their tasks in outer space faster than planned and spent six hours and 35 minutes outside the space station.
This spacewalk was the eighth in Prokopiev’s career and the sixth for Petelin. Before leaving for space, the cosmonauts performed preparatory work on their suits and checked their tightness and parameters.
