The exhibition gathers in different formats intimate memories narrated by those who suffered the horror of attacks, kidnappings, or other acts in different regions of the world.
Through film and photography, the witnesses, linked by a red thread symbolically as the Asian legend of souls destined to meet states, seek to raise collective awareness about preventing terrorist attacks and the resulting new victims.
The memories and emotions of Falmata, kidnapped by Boko Haram fighters; Iman Muhammad, a Daesh survivor; and Janne, a London bombing victim, are intertwined powerfully to raise their voices in a tribute to those left behind.
The initiative was first launched at the United Nations High-Level International Conference on Human Rights, Civil Society, and Counter-Terrorism held in Malaga, Spain, on May 10, 2022.

Memorias de víctimas del terrorismo reclaman paz para el mundo
Naciones Unidas, 10 ago (Prensa Latina) Las historias de 22 víctimas del terrorismo en el mundo convocan hoy a reflexionar a través del arte sobre las consecuencias de este flagelo, con la exhibición de Memorias en esta sede.
La exposición recoge en varios formatos recuerdos íntimos narrados por quienes padecieron el horror de diversos ataques, secuestros u otros actos en diferentes lugares del planeta.
A través del cine y la fotografía, los testigos atados simbólicamente con un hilo rojo -como reza la leyenda asiática de las almas destinadas a coincidir- buscan crear consciencia colectiva sobre la importancia de prevenir los ataques terroristas y la consiguiente aparición de nuevas víctimas.
Los recuerdos y emociones de Falmata, secuestrado por Boko Haram, Iman Muhammad, sobreviviente del Daesh, y Janne, víctima de una bomba en Londres, se entrelazan de forma poderosa para unir su voces en un homenaje también para quienes quedaron en el camino.
La iniciativa fue presentada por primera vez el 10 de mayo de 2022 en la Conferencia internacional de alto nivel de las Naciones Unidas sobre derechos humanos, sociedad civil y lucha contra el terrorismo en Málaga, España.
