The book “Operación Milagro. Solidaridad Médica de Cuba en Argentina” (Operation Miracle. Cuba’s Medical Solidarity in Argentina), which highlights the results of Cuba’s ophthalmologic mission and international projection, will be launched as part of the events to recall the Commander-in-Chief in Buenos Aires.
Dr. Aleida Guevara, daughter of guerrilla fighter Ernesto Che Guevara (1928-1967), will attend the event on Thursday afternoon.
Cuban Ambassador Pedro Pablo Prada; Claudia Camba, president of the A Better World Is Possible (UMMEP) Foundation; Hugo Godoy, Secretary General of the Argentinean Workers’ Union; and Omar Giuliani, coordinator of the National Territorial Federation, will also be present at the event.
Founded in 2004, UMMEP has played a fundamental role in cooperation between Argentina and Cuba, and facilitates the implementation of the “Yo, sí puedo” (Yes, I can) teaching program and the Operation Miracle eye surgery project in this South American nation.
