Salvadoran travelers left 19.5 million dollars to Guatemala

Guatemala City, Aug 9 (Prensa Latina) Salvadorans who visited Guatemala as part of their vacation for the August holidays, from August 1 to 6, left 19.5 million dollars, according to an official source.

The trips during that week reflected an increase of over 10 thousand people compared to last year, the general director of the Guatemalan Tourism Institute (Inguat), Anayansy Rodríguez, says.

The executive qualifies as important the economic spill, in reference to the amount spent by the 66,378 Salvadorans who entered the country.

With respect to the most visited places, she reports that Guatemala City and Antigua Guatemala were the preferred destinations by Salvadorans.

The results obtained are part of the international promotion actions carried out, Rodriguez says.

Inguat also implemented internally a plan for the prevention, confidence and assistance of these travelers in transit in the tourist corridors of the nation.

The entity maintained at its disposal the safe caravans, one of the strategies to provide peace of mind to visitors. Data from its Market Analysis Research Department showed the entry of 54,699 Salvadorans in 2022, an increase of 295% compared to August 2021.
