The courageous struggles of the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army and the people’s rebellion, under the guidance of the illustrious strategist and leader, culminated on August 15, 1945, with the unconditional capitulation of Japanese imperialism, the state KCNA news agency noted.
Kim Il Sung, who was born on April 15, 1912, and died on July 8, 1994, was the creator of the Juche ideology and supreme leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) since its establishment in 1948 until his death in 1994. Under his leadership, the country was established as a socialist State with a centrally planned economy.
The imprint of the president, who with steadfastness, confidence and love for the people, devoted his whole life to providing them with a happy existence, can be seen everywhere, KCNA stressed.
