Organized by DiPaz (Inter-Church Dialogue for Peace in Colombia), it is aimed at leaders, representatives and members of religious domestic entities and organizations, human rights defenders, the conflict’s victims, peace signatories and scholars.
Reverend Kenneth Mtata assured his visit along with other World Council of Churches’ figures represents a great chance for the Council to affirm its support for processes leading to a fair peace with its member churches and ecumenical partners who are actively involved on the ground.
Meanwhile, Senator Gloria Florez first thanked Cuban Ambassador Javier Caamaño for Cuba’s impressive efforts to help achieving peace in Colombia.
The diplomat pointed out the commitment of Petro’s Government to peace and that they support various religious expressions both inside and outside Colombia, because the State is willing to respond to the needs of the Colombian people.
