Since the beginning of the year, Benjamin Netanyahu’s ultra-right-wing government has given the green light to build 12,855 new housing units in the West Bank, the NGO warned in data published by The Times of Israel.
In its last meeting, on June 26, the Higher Planning Council approved the construction of 5,700 housing units in the colonies of Ma’ale Adumim, Giv’at Zeev, Ariel, Beitar Illit and other smaller ones, it stressed.
Peace Now noted that the previous record was set in 2020, when in the whole year it was agreed to build 12,000.
Meanwhile, from January to July, 22 outposts were legalized, allowing them to be connected to water, electricity and cell phone systems, in addition to providing them with monetary support and security.
