The incident took place on Sunday, despite the heavy security deployment surrounding the head of State, who accused of being responsible for the deaths during protests in previous months and demanded her resignation.
The demonstrators were forcibly dispersed by the Police and identified themselves to the press as members of the Junin Struggle Command, part of the National Unitary Struggle Command, which staged new and important protests last July to demand the president’s resignation.
The Government considers that after the demonstrations in July, it has achieved détente, and Boluarte proposed talks with the members of the social organizations of the National Command, which rejects the proposal and demands justice and punishment for the perpetrators and those responsible for the 49 deaths in the previous riots.
