Argentineans mourn death of Milagro Sala’s husband

Buenos Aires, Aug 7 (Prensa Latina) Organizations and union and political leaders in Argentina on Monday regretted the death of journalist and poet Raúl Noro, the husband of indigenous leader Milagro Sala.

On social networks, the Tupac Amaru group announced the death of one of its members due to a prolonged illness at the age of 80.

We will always remember him with love and joy, the group said in the message.

Argentinean Human Rights Secretary Horacio Pietragalla, in turn, expressed his sorrow for Noro’s death and his support for Sala and his family.

The head of the Cabinet of Ministers, Agustín Rossi; the general secretary of the Argentine Workers’ Central Union (Autonomous), Hugo Godoy; and Senator Oscar Parrilli, from Frente de Todos, among others, also sent their condolences.

Groups such as Hijos and Encuentro Patriótico expressed their solidarity with the social leader.

Sala has been in prison for seven years for alleged incitement to violence when she led a protest against the changes imposed by Jujuy Governor Gerardo Morales, in the cooperatives program.

She is currently under house arrest and multiple organizations have denounced the humiliation, abuse and attacks against her.
