Garcia was protected by a bulletproof vest as his testimonies are key to find out Marset’s whereabouts. Minister of Government Eduardo del Castillo showed him to the press, revealing that the subject served as Marset’s economic operator.

Marset is a wanted person in Uruguay, Paraguay and Bolivia. In addition, Europol, Interpol and the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) are looking for him.

According to del Castillo, Garcia carried out economic transactions involving real estate, motorcycles and articles linked to the most wanted drug dealer in the region.

The arrested man was in charge of “laundering money” allegedly coming from drug trafficking through the purchase of real estate and different luxury items.

As part of the investigation, Garcia was taken to the offices of the Special Force against Crime (FELCC) of the Santa Cruz “Plan Tres Mil” (3,000 Plan) to present his informative statement.
