Various activities organized by the Ministry of the Interior, the Cuban Fire Department and the José Enrique Estrada Fire Station Museum will be carried out until Saturday, August 5, when the biggest fire in Cuba’s history started, as a tribute to those who died in the incident.
According to museum director Biolexi Ballester, a history site will be inaugurated today at the third firefighters’ command located at the Juan Gualberto Gomez International Airport in Varadero, followed by an intimate ceremony with relatives of the deceased, workers and retirees of this site.
On Friday, the museum will host a colloquium with forensic medicine experts, anthropologists and specialized personnel who were present in the expert work of modeling the event, search and identification of bone fragments at the site of the accident, he said.
