The meeting will take place in the Yellow House, the Foreign Ministry’s headquarters, and will be chaired by Denis Christel Sassou Nguesso, minister for International Cooperation and Promotion of Public-Private Partnerships of Congo, and Ricardo Menéndez, vice president of the Council of Ministers of Planning of Venezuela.
Nguesso arrived in Venezuela on Monday and was welcomed at the Simón Bolívar international airport by Yuri Pimentel, Deputy Minister for Africa at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Foreign Minister Yván Gil welcomed the African Cooperation Minister on Twitter, “We share visions and strategies to strengthen bilateral relations between our countries.”
Bilateral relations between Congo and Venezuela were established on April 6, 2006. Two years later they were consolidated after the signing of a memorandum of understanding on the establishment of a Political Consultation Mechanism and the Cooperation Framework Agreement.
