Russian Armed Forces thwart five Ukrainian attacks in Krasny Liman

Moscow, Aug 2 (Prensa Latina) Members of the Center group of the Russian Armed Forces thwarted five attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the vicinity of Krasny Liman, in Donetsk, the spokesman for the group, Alexander Savchuk, said.

The Center group repelled the attacks by three Ukrainian mechanized brigades in the Serebrianski forest and the village of Torskoye, with assistance from the artillery and aviation, the spokesman wrote on Telegram.

In addition, Savchuk noted that elements of the group captured seven enemy strongholds in the course of active defense in the areas of Karmazinovka and Chervonopopovka, in Lugansk.

The Ukrainian forces’ casualties exceeded 100 soldiers during the fighting in the region, in addition to an armored combat vehicle and three technical vehicles.

Savchuk reported that an unspecified number of D-30 122-mm towed Howitzers, a Msta-B 152-mm towed Howitzer, and two mortars were destroyed as a result of counter-battery fire, while the air defense shot down five unmanned aerial vehicles and four rockets from the M142 HIMARS multiple rocket launcher system.
