A boat was sent to the area with a tip-off that a group of displaced people was in an inflatable boat near Dikili district, the Coast Guard Command said in a press release.

After being rescued, the migrants were handed over to the Provincial Migration Directorate after the appropriate formalities.

According to local experts, Türkiye and social groups criticize Greek authorities’ illegal practice of turning asylum seekers back, claiming that it violates humanitarian values and international law, and endangers the lives of vulnerable migrants, including women and children.
