“Thanks to our friendship, to our relations, we were able to hold these events with you for three days and created a good basis for moving forward,” Putin said as he bid farewell to the guests at the naval parade for the Russian Navy Day, Sputnik news agency reported.

Some of the African heads of state who participated in the Russia-Africa Summit, at the invitation of the Russian leader, stayed in the city of St. Petersburg to attend the parade held on the occasion of the 327th anniversary of the Eurasian countries’ fleet.

After the Russian Navy parade, the president, accompanied by his African counterparts, visited the port city of Kronstadt, located on Kotlin Island, where they examined the ships and visited the Museum of Naval Glory.

The Russian city of St. Petersburg hosted on July 27-28 the second Russia-Africa summit and economic and humanitarian forum, which took place under the theme: “For peace, security and development”.
