Born in Havana in 1939, Dorr stands out for his mastery in musical theater.
Being graduated from the prestigious San Alejandro Art School, his first experience as a theater director was the staging of “Las Pericas,” which led him to the stage where he began as an actor at the Teatro Universitario.
Back then, Dorr bet on the play “La peste viene de Melos,” (The plague comes from Melos) by the Argentine Osvaldo Dragun.
The playwright created a new theater group named “Conjunto de Los Trece,” which lasted until 1961, when he found his true path in the “Conjunto Dramatico Nacional,” where he worked as assistant to Argentinian director Nestor Raimondi.
He also developed theatrical activities in different centers where he staged scenes of “The Respectful Harlot”, by the eminent French writer, novelist, playwright and philosopher Jean Paul Sartre.
So far, he has staged over 90 productions and is a scriptwriter for film, ballet and dance.
