More than 474 thousand citizens are summoned to go to the polls and determine a new governor and lieutenant governor, the deputies, mayors and councilors.
Among the main candidates to lead the provincial government are Juan Pablo Luque and Ricardo Sastre from Ariba Chubut (Peronism); Ignacio Torres and Gustavo Menna (Together for Change); and César Treffinger and Laura Mirantes (La Libertad Independiente).
Also competing are Emilse Saavedra and Julieta Rusconi from the Left and Workers Front, and Oscar Petersen and Nancy Lobos from Generación for a National Meeting.
The 248 schools enabled to exercise the vote opened their doors at 08:00 local time, and the TE reported that the National Gendarmerie and the Argentine Post Office guaranteed the distribution of the material necessary for the proper functioning of the 1,416 polling stations, after heavy winds and rains.
