Speaking to the Ethiopian Press Agency, Kebede recalled that during the St. Petersburg summit, which ended on Friday, many issues on the interests of Africa and Russia were debated.
Commenting on relations between Addis Ababa and Moscow, the diplomat said that the two nations will work together in several fields to strengthen long-standing fraternal relations; hence, the delegation headed by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, which attended the high-level event, strengthened those relations.
“I expect the summit has a positive outcome for Ethiopia and other African countries,” he added.
The news agency highlighted Ahmed’s meeting with President Vladimir Putin, at which he described Russia as a brotherly country to Ethiopia, and expressed hope that his visit and participation in the summit would strengthen cooperation between the two States.
Putin revealed the preparation of a whole package of documents for the African country, including an intergovernmental agreement on information security, air transport, and a memorandum of understanding in information and communication technologies.
