According to the statement, the ships began the third China-Russia joint patrol in the Pacific after the ships left the port of Vladivostok, in the far east of Russia.
The tasks of the joint patrol include strengthening the cooperation between the Navies of Russia and China, maintaining peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region, monitoring the aquatic space, and protecting Russia’s and China’s economic assets, as per the statement.
During the patrol mission, the crews will carry out various formations, simulate the destruction of enemy submarines, conduct replenishment maneuvers on the high seas and organize embarked helicopter flights.
The Russian Defense Ministry highlighted that the joint naval group will consist of the Russian destroyers Admiral Tributs and Admiral Panteleyev, the corvettes Gremyashchiy and Aldar Tsydenzhapov, and the tanker Pechenga.
China, for its part, will participate with the torpedo boats Guiyang and Qiqihar, the patrol boats Tunling and Rizhao, and the supply ship Taihu.
Moscow and Beijing conducted their first joint naval patrol in 2021, and the second in autumn 2022.
