Rosatom Director General Alexey Likhachev and Burundian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Albert Shingiro penned the document during a sidebar of the 2nd Russia-Africa Summit and the Economic and Humanitarian Forum, which opened here on Thursday.
According to Rosatom, the agreement makes it possible to begin the practical implementation of concrete cooperation projects in a wide range of spheres.
It includes creating and improving the African country’s nuclear infrastructure, cooperating in using radiation technologies and nuclear medicine, and training specialists for the nuclear sector, among other spheres.
The Russian city of St. Petersburg is hosting the 2nd Russia-Africa Summit and the Economic and Humanitarian Forum on July 27-28, under the slogan “For Peace, Security, and Development.”
