Panamanian workers demand end of US blockade against Cuba

Panama, Jul 27 (Prensa Latina) The National Workers Confederation of Panama (CNTP) on Thursday condemned the United States blockade against Cuba, which has been tightened despite several United Nations resolutions demanding its immediate end.

In a communiqué on the 70th anniversary of the attacks on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes garrisons, the largest of the workers’ confederation in Panama expressed its willingness to defend this noble cause of the revolutionary, socialist and humanitarian country in the face of Washington’s unfair and cruel policy.

The CNTP pointed out in its message on the anniversary that the legacy of those young people led by Fidel Castro on July 26, 1953, shakes Cuba’s soul so that it will never again live tied to the chains of US imperialism.

The organization, along with the World Federation of Trade Unions, of which it is affiliated, gathered nearby the Cuban Embassy to demand the end of the US economic, commercial and financial blockade.

As part of the commemorative day in Panama on Cuban National Rebelliousness Day, the Marti Association of Cuban Residents and the National Solidarity Coordinating Committee announced a caravan against the blockade that will travel through the main streets of this capital next Sunday.
