Lukashenko sent a congratulation message to his Cuban counterpart Miguel Díaz-Canel and to the Cuban people on the occasion of the country’s celebration of the National Rebellion Day, BelTA news agency reported.
“We´re united by common views on the most pressing issues of modern politics, constructive work on multilateral platforms, mutual interest in boosting trade relations and the fulfillment of major economic projects,” Lukashenko’s message read.
The Belorussian president said his country highly values friendly relations with Cuba, a nation he called as “a reliable ally and a constant partner in Latin America”.
Referring to the July 26 heroic deeds, as groups of revolutionaries led by Fidel and Raúl Castro stormed into the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks, Lukashenko pointed out that event became “a large-scale liberation movement that definitively changed the course of world history”.
