According to Kivikó, who also serves as head of the Regional Association of Solidarity with Cuba, the friends of the Cuban Revolution are presently recalling the 70th anniversary of the attacks on both Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks on July 26, 1953, because that day marked the beginning of a new stage in the history of the Cuba.
“From the Moncada attack a new history of the Cuban people, struggle for liberation from US imperial oppression, for freedom and the right to determine their own destiny begun,” said Kiviko.
“The attack failed to success back then, but it did not break the willingness to continue fighting which continued with the January 1, 1959, Triumph,” Kivikó added.
Kivikó also said that Crimea inhabitants showed their solidarity with Cuba, and support all Cubans in the struggle to lift the inhumane blockade imposed by the United States for over 60 years.
