The official statement released by China Daily read this is a regular military cooperation between the two countries and is not directed against a third party.
The two sides recently completed the joint North/Interaction-2023 sea exercise in Sea of Japan.
According to the Russian Pacific Fleet, sea forces have been practicing anti-submarine and combat exercises, air defense, sea and air escort of ships since 20 July.
In total, some 20 military exercises were conducted, including joint artillery firing. On the Russian side, the large anti-submarine ships of the Pacific Fleet Admiral Tributs and Admiral Panteleyev, the corvettes Gremiaschi and Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhatov, as well as support ships, took part.
From the Chinese side, they used the destroyers Qiqihar and Guiyang, the patrol vessels Zaozhuang and Rizhao, as well as the integrated supply ship Taihu.
