In the statement, the Russian military agency said that the delegation headed by Shoigu was in response to an invitation from the DPRK authorities, to take part in the celebrations which mark seven decades since the victory in the “Patriotic Liberation War” (1950-1953).
Moscow noted that the visit will contribute in strengthening military ties and will be an important stage in the development of cooperation between the two countries.
The DPRK’s state agency, the ACNC, assured that the visit of the Russian military delegation “will be an important moment to up lift and develop the traditional friendly relations” between Moscow and Pyongyang.
