In statements to Prensa Latina, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Cuban Embassy in Beijing and second in charge of the mission, Mario Alzugaray, stressed that diplomats, students, representatives of commercial offices and Cuban residents recalled together the importance of July 26, 1953 for the revolutionary project.
The diplomat stressed that although the national liberation processes of each country are very different, “both show the determination of our peoples to implement social benefit programs in favor of the most vulnerable”.
In the diplomat’s opinion, the commemoration of transcendental dates such as July 26 takes on greater connotation at a time when the international media campaign from the United States against the island seeks to decontextualize history and reinterpret the facts.
