Medical students, health professionals, workers and activists joined the peaceful protest to prove discontent with Public Prosecutor’s Office (MP).

“People listening, Join the struggle!” they shouted along the way, while a group of demonstrators requested an exchange with the nation’s Human Rights Ombudsman Alejandro Cordova.

A student told Cordova that he had not defended or watched over the rights violated in the last weeks.

“We want free elections,” the student showed a sign, whilst participants also noted: “this is not for a party, it is for Guatemala, or the people are in resistance against this false democracy with the flavor of a dictatorship.”
