In line with the Varadero Digital City project, which aims to turn the city into the first digital city in Cuba, the PCTM is immersed in the creation of four new online self-service stations.
According to PCTM director, Diego Castilla, three of these centers will be located in Varadero and one in Cárdenas, a municipality that is also undergoing transformation and has a significant number of facilities directly linked to Cuba’s main sun and beach tourist destination.
The creation of the new stations seeks to facilitate services linked to the management of procedures with the aim of educating and evidencing among the population the facilities of electronic payment as one more way of digital transformation, he said.
Castilla explained that access to different payment platforms through the free use of the means established in the stations is advantageous for those who need access to online sites in Cuba such as for example the registration of property or other legal procedures.
The PCTM, the first of its kind in Cuba and located at the University of Matanzas, is developing important projects for the development of technologies for the benefit of the country with the cooperation of companies such as Xetid, Citmatel, Desoft, Demos and professionals from the University of Matanzas.
