Lidier Aguila, a lawmaker from eastern Guantanamo province, told Prensa Latina that it has always been the Parliament’s style and will continue to be so, in reference to the main issues discussed at the 1st Ordinary Session of the 10th Legislature.

On Thursday, the fight against crime was debated deeply, including the will of the State and the Government to face this problem that can even compromise the country’s future, in conjunction with the people and mass organizations, he said.

The legislator, who heads the National Association of Inventors (ANIR), added that on Friday they will also discuss other issues of major importance, such as the enforcement of the Food Sovereignty and Food and Nutritional Security Law, and the effectiveness of measures for price control.

Aguila pointed out that Cubans will certainly be aware of these debates, because the Ordinary Session, which began on Thursday and will conclude on Saturday, at Havana’s International Conference Center has been broadcast on national television.
